Cancellation policy

What happens if plans, or the weather, change

Cancelling a confirmed charter

Charters cancelled more than 14 days before the departure date are refunded in full, less any transaction fees already incurred.

Charters cancelled between 7 and 14 days before departure are refunded at 50% of the total.

Charters cancelled within 7 days of departure are not refunded, because the crew and the date have already been committed.

Weather

The captain assesses conditions on the morning of the charter. Where the weather makes a planned route unsafe or unpleasant, the route will be changed to sheltered water rather than cancelled — Phang Nga Bay in particular stays workable in conditions that rule out the open crossings.

Where the captain judges that no safe route is available, you may reschedule to any other available date, or take a full refund. This decision rests with the captain and is made on safety grounds alone.

A charter cut short after departure because of deteriorating weather is not automatically refunded, though we will always try to find a fair resolution.

Changing your date

A confirmed charter can be moved once at no charge, provided you tell us more than 14 days before the original date and the new date is available.

Late arrivals

Charter time runs from the scheduled departure. Where a group arrives late at the marina the charter still ends at the scheduled time, because the following booking and the crew hours depend on it.

Cancellation by us

In the unlikely event we cancel for operational reasons — a mechanical problem, for instance — you will be offered an equivalent yacht where one is available, a new date, or a full refund.
